A Life’s Purpose

What is your purpose for living? Why did God put you on this planet? For Peter, it was to tell about Jesus and His story. He told his audience about his purpose in 2 Peter 1:12-13 (NLT). He wrote:

Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught. 13 And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live.

Peter knew what was on the line. It was Heaven or Hell. That’s why he kept reminding people about Jesus and His love. He promised to do it as long as he lived.
This is not just Peter’s purpose. This is my purpose. This is your purpose. We are to act as a beacon of God’s light that points people home. Lost people are always on God’s heart and mind. Jesus said that His purpose, the reason He came, was to seek and to save the lost. If that was His purpose, shouldn’t it be ours as well?
