The Word Stands Forever

Peter said that we have been born again to eternal life by the living word of God. He then said this in 1 Peter 1:24-25 (NLT):

As the Scriptures say,
“People are like grass;
their beauty is like a flower in the field.
The grass withers and the flower fades.
25 But the word of the Lord remains forever.”
And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.

We are all here temporarily. We are merely passing through this world on our way to eternity. We who follow Jesus will live forever with Him. Our time on earth is short, though. We are reminded of this as Peter quotes the book of Isaiah. We will all pass from this life someday. None of us are guaranteed any amount of time in our lives. God’s Word, though, will last forever. Generations come and generations go, but God’s Word stands the test of time. The Good News of Jesus Christ continues to change lives for the glory of God and will continue to do so until Christ returns. Let us be faithful to the Word of God for it teaches us how to know God, love God and how to have a relationship with Him.
