Partnering With God Through Giving

The apostle Paul let the Philippians know that their gifts supported his ministry and he was grateful for them. Their gifts were more than just a support of his work. They were a sacrifice that pleased God.

Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. 18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. – Philippians 4:17-18 (NIV)

When we give consistently, generously and sacrificially to the work of the Lord, God is pleased. The work of spreading the Gospel continues and lives are changed because of the generosity of God’s people. Our tithes and offerings that we give are a way of partnering with God to change the world with the love of Jesus. This is why giving is so important. It shows that we are grateful and that we trust God. It also shows our desire to partner with God to change lives for His glory.
