Growing In Grace And Faith

As Peter concludes his second letter, he does so on an encouraging note. Instead of listening to false teachers and falling away from their faith, Peter wants them to grow in grace. He wrote:

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. – 2 Peter 3:18 (NIV)

In order to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus, one has to pursue Christ. You cannot sit idly by and expect to grow in your faith. If you want to know Jesus better, you’ve got to spend time in God’s Word. You need to spend time with other Christians in worship, service and study. You must learn to feed yourself a steady diet of Scripture, fellowship and service. God expects His children to grow in grace and faith. If you isolate yourself from other believers and if you don’t learn to feed yourself, you’ll starve your soul and you won’t grow. Take time to cultivate your garden of faith and your faith will grow healthy and strong.
