Wisdom, Not Trivia

 I am kind of a trivia freak. I love playing Jeopardy, Trivial Pursuit and trivia games on my phone. I have been blessed with a mind for trivia. What I need more of, though, is wisdom. Solomon wrote this about the wisdom from God:

For the Lord gives wisdom;
    from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

He holds success in store for the upright,
    he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,

for he guards the course of the just
    and protects the way of his faithful ones. – Proverbs 2:6-8 (NIV)

When God bestows wisdom, it changes our lives. In a world obsessed with the pursuit of trivial things that don’t matter, we need more people who pursue God’s wisdom. There are benefits when we do. God will bless us with knowledge and understanding, success and protection. Solomon asked the Lord for wisdom and God blessed him with it and so much more. May we seek the Lord’s wisdom over trivial knowledge each day.
