Heartfelt Prayer

How is your prayer life going these days? Are you committed to prayer as a regular part of your journey of faith? Or is prayer the furthest thing from your mind or a kind of last resort when all else fails? The Apostle Paul said that we should be devoted to prayer. He wrote:

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. – Colossians 4:2 (NIV)

We need to be people of prayer. God listens to our prayers and prayer works. God changes situations and God changes us. We should do more than just ask for stuff when we pray. We need to be alert and thankful in prayer, too. That means our prayers should be heartfelt and not just routine recitations. Take some time to pray a prayer of thanksgiving to your Father in Heaven right now knowing that He loves you and hears you and will answer your prayers according to His will.
