Everything Is In His Hands

John 3:31-36 (NIV)

The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. 33 Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. 34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

When we are children, we sing the song, “He’s got the whole world in His hands…”  John 3:35 tells us that God the Father placed everything in the hands of Jesus. That’s right. Everything is in Jesus’ hands. He’s got you, me and everyone and everything in His more than capable hands.
We sometimes think that we’ve got to take matters into our own hands to try and survive or get by. We try to take the wheel away from Jesus because we think we know what’s best. We think that we know where we’re going and what we’re doing. The truth is that we don’t. We’re be-bopping through life as though we’re in control. All the while, things are spinning out of control and we don’t even realize it. We can’t see the big picture. We don’t know what’s coming around the bend. But Jesus sees it all. He knows what’s ahead. He’s got this and you don’t have to try and control the situations and circumstances in which you find yourself. Trust Him. He’s the only One who can save your soul. He’s got everything in His hands.
PRAYER: Thank You, Father, for placing everything in Jesus’ hands. Help me to trust You in all things knowing that there is nothing going on in my life of which you are unaware. Thank You, Jesus, for protecting me and loving me every step of the way. I give You control of my life today. In Your name, amen.
