We WILL See Him

Look, he is coming with the clouds,
and every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him;
and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him.
So shall it be! Amen. — Revelation 1:7 (NIV)
There is something about seeing someone or something that makes it even more real.  I am a big U2 fan.  I have just about all of their albums.  From Boy to No Line On The Horizon, I have a lot of U2 music.  I have listened to song after song and have enjoyed them immensely.  I have heard live tracks and wondered what it would be like to see them live.  I remember my first concert at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.  Bono and the boys rocked the house on the Elevation Tour in 2001.  Hearing them on a CD or an iPod was nothing compared to seeing them live.
We have the words of Jesus.  We have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us.  We talk to God and He communicates with us in various ways.  But hearing about Jesus will be nothing compared to seeing Him coming on the clouds of Heaven.  He will come back again.  He made that promise in John 14.  In power and glory and majesty, Jesus will return.  We will bow down in worship and declare that “Jesus Christ is Lord” to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11).
In the meantime, let us work, serve, pray and worship together as we wait for that day to come.  Let us keep our hands to the plow and our eyes to the sky.  We WILL see Him one day.  May that day be soon.
